…..and we had a great weekend! EirtaKon 2012 was great fun this year, with their highest number of attendees ever recorded filling up the Helix and DCU. We had an awesome time talking to some of you at our panel, and we were blown away by the professional level of cosplay this year (and congrats to Keane, who will be representing all of Ireland’s cosplayers at the MCM Expo next year!).
Massive thanks to the EirtaKon committee and volunteer staff for all their hard work in making it all happen, and we hope they had as much fun as we did hanging out with them!
Also, in case you missed it, we made several new announcements at the EirtaKon closing ceremony…..
Our special guest count is now up to SEVEN, and we’re not stopping there… Two of our newest confirmed guests will be coming all the way from Canada for their Irish fans, so make sure you’re ready to welcome the talented cosplayers TWIN FOOLS and NOVA VANDORWOLF this coming July!
Arcade Con 2013 will be held as usual in the D4 Hotel in Ballsbridge, Dublin, on July 5th - 7th, and returning once again are the likes of Disney, Nickelodeon and Sony PlayStation, so stay tuned and keep in touch, our ask box is open!
The long dreaded nuclear conflict has begun and Dublin City has been torn apart, shattered, overrun by things that shouldn’t be real. For just a few, survival is possible inside the depths of the Ballsbridge Inn, away from the dead that aren’t dead. The trade hall and the games room are crawling with con-goers stricken by a virus that resembles the zombie virus depicted in many tv shows, comics and movies.
This can’t be real but it seems ArcadeCon has just entered the Apocalypse.
Only 5 people are left, and although they have all given serious thought to what they would do if the Zombie Apocalpyse started, they never factored in ArcadeCon.

On the Sunday of ArcadeCon, the 15th of July, starting at 10am, we will draw this comic in ONE day. Seven hours to draw and write a comic. Can we do it?
First of all we need our characters. Their names are:
- Anna Harris
- Jamie O’ Rourke
- Ruairi Hill
- Tadhg Renner
- Dani Martin
We need YOU to give us biographies for each of these characters.
- Name
- Age
- Weapons (Yes/No)
(If yes what?)
- Short backstory
+ where they’re from?
+ are they staying at the hotel?
+Do they know Dublin City well?
+Any special talents?
Later on, when we have the biographies, we will need YOU once again to give us quick outlines on what they look like. A quick sketch will do.
-Hair style?
-Style of clothes?
-Anything you think would be interesting and set this character apart?
First we will be looking for the biographies for these characters to give the artisically talented something to work with.

While ArcadeCon is about having fun, meeting new people and being the biggest geeks in the world, we also try to help others. This year we’re working with Munster Dog Rescue, and here you will find some of the items we’ve gathered for our Charity Auction so far!
